In the Somali capital of Mogadishu, a famous Somali journalist who was a critic of the Islamist terrorist group al-Shabab was killed in a suicide bomb assault.
Abdiaziz Mohamud Guled, better known as Abdiaziz Afrika, was assassinated as he walked out of a downtown restaurant shortly afternoon.
The blast also injured two other persons nearby, who were brought to the hospital.
Al-Shabab claimed responsibility for the incident and claimed to have targeted the journalist from Radio Mogadishu.
According to a report on the official Radio Mogadishu website, the bomber exploded a device in front of a car at the restaurant where Guled was accompanied by the director of Somali National Television and a driver.
