A petroleum truck exploded in the capital of Sierra Leone on Friday, killing 92 people and injuring more than 100, according to the central mortuary and local officials.
Deputy health minister Amara Jambai told Reuters that another 100 people had been admitted to hospitals and clinics around the capital for treatment.
People gathered to collect petrol gushing from the burst car, according to Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr, the port city’s mayor, who later changed her Facebook post to delete the mention.
