Verstappen opens a 12 point lead

Max Verstappen, currently at the top of the championship’s leaderboard, has taken another win. Positioning first in qualifying, he was able to be at the top of the grid for the race. However, Hamilton had an amazing start, and took over the first position very quickly. The burning sun of the Circuit of the Americas in Texas made it very tough for the drivers, and the two championship rivals really gave it their all on the track. Verstappen was able to gain back the lead after a couple laps, but Lewis Hamilton was only a second behind him all along.

The race ended very intensely with Verstappen having to overtake the last car on the grid and lapped Haas driver Schumacher. Lewis Hamilton crossed the finish line exactly 1.3 seconds after Max and believes that if they had a couple more laps he could have “had him”.tly 1.3 seconds after Max and believes that if they had a couple more laps he could have “had him”. In the end this race was great news for Verstappen, as this just increased the gap between him and Hamilton for the championship fight. Max is currently at the top of the leaderboard with 287 points, and Lewis Hamilton is right behind with 275 points.
