On Monday, February 6, Google unveiled their latest project ‘Bard’ which was said to be released in the next few coming weeks. The company announced their new chatbot tool, which appears to be the rival to the popular ChatGPT AI software that has recently become mainstream.
According to Google, “Bard seeks to combine the breadth of the world’s knowledge with the power, intelligence and creativity of our large language models.” (Statement From Google CEO Sundar Pichai).
Some of the concerns presented by using such developed AI software are anything from plagiarism to misinformation, but a major concern that has been a popular conversation topic is data theft. Data theft is any unauthorized exfiltration and access to confidential data on a network. This includes personal details, passwords, or even software codes.
As helpful as this new software appears to be, is the usage of these AI softwares worth the risk of Data theft? Though these questions are still surfacing the air, if more security and protection services were coordinated, both Bard and ChatGPT could be quite helpful and advanced pieces of softwares, used by all people, regardless of your work field.
