Following a large confrontation during the Detroit Pistons’ 121-101 victory over the Orlando Magic, the NBA suspended eleven players.
The incident was started by Orlando Magic forward Moritz Wagner, who shoved Killian Hayes off the court as he ran after a loose ball down the sideline while the Detroit Pistons were leading by nine points. Hamidou Diallo raced in and pushed Wagner from behind, then Hayes hit Wagner in the back of the head, sending him sprawling into the Pistons bench.
Hayes will begin his three-game suspension and Diallo will serve his one-game suspension when the Pistons play the Chicago Bulls at United Center on Friday, while Moritz Wagner received a two-game suspension for initiating the entire situation. There were one-game suspensions issued to the eight Magic players for leaving the bench area during the scuffle. Guards Cole Anthony, RJ Hampton, Gary Harris and Kevon Harris, forwards Admiral Schofield and Franz Wagner and centers Mo Bamba and Wendell Carter Jr were among the other 8 players out of the 11 totals who also got suspended.
