After serving an eight-game suspension, Kyrie Irving returned to the court on Sunday to play for the Brooklyn Nets against the Memphis Grizzlies. His NBA ban following the sharing of a social media link to an anti-Semitic movie has been lifted.
In an interview with SportsNet New York on Saturday, Irving expressed his most sincere apologies. Since then, as part of a series of steps required for reinstatement, Irving has met with Jewish community leaders and NBA commissioner Adam Silver.
“I meant no harm to any person, to any group of people,” Irving told SNY. “And yeah, this is a big moment for me because I’m able to learn throughout this process.”
