For Generation Z, and everyone who thinks we merit a better future, History has been created. This is what a victory sounds like for Democrat Maxwell Frost, who at 25 is the first member of Generation Z to serve in the US Congress.
After the anticipated victory, his jubilation on Twitter quickly gained widespread support. His campaign focused on the issues Democrats believe appeal to young voters – gun violence, climate change, abortion rights and expanded healthcare.
His election to the House of Representatives will significantly reduce Congress’ median age, which is currently the highest in twenty years. Baby boomers predominate, whereas millennials make up just 6% of the population.
“I’m incredibly grateful for the chance to represent my hometown in the US Congress,” Mr. Frost said in a letter.
