According to Norwegian public broadcaster NRK, police in Norway arrested a researcher at the University of Tromso in the Arctic Circle who was working on irregular warfare methods.
According to Norway’s police, the university researcher claims to be a citizen of Brazil, but they believe he may be hiding his true identity and actually be a Russian.
Although the agency withheld the man’s name, it stated on the agency’s Twitter account that he was being arrested on suspicion of breaking two clauses of the Norwegian penal code, relating to “illegal intelligence” that could “harm basic national interests” and “security interests of foreign states.”
