E. Jean Carroll is an American journalist and author that claims an attack by Trump took place in New york. She said she was helping him pick out a gift and the two of them ended up in a dressing room, where she claims that he had raped her. She says at the time she was 52 and he was around 50. During this time, Mr. Trump was married to Marla Maples, who was his first wife. Ms. Carroll also said she had told her two friends about the incident. One had told her to go to the police, but the other warned her to keep quiet, saying “Forget it! He has 200 lawyers. He’ll bury you.”
Former President Trump denied all claims that Ms. Carroll was lying and only wanted publicity to promote her book. Mr Trump’s lawyers tried to delay the deposition, but Judge Lewis A Kaplan of the federal court in New York last week had denied the request. Mr Trump had responded to that legal setback by taking to social media. On social media Trump had said “this ‘Ms Bergdorf Goodman’ case is a complete con job”.
This isnt the first time that Trump had been accused to sexual assult accusations, but he had denied every single one of them. More than a dozen women have come out with this claim but had always been so down by Trump’s denial. Trump has as well paid off women for their silence, an adult actor came forward in 2018 that Trump agreed to pay $130,000 in exchange for keeping quiet.
