Kanye West being sued by George Floyd’s family

Rap artist, Kanye West is being sued for $250 million by the mother of George Floyd’s daughter as a result of Kanye West’s recent statements about Floyd’s passing. Floyd’s family sent an immediate letter to Kanye West, for his comments regarding Georges’s death at the hands of Minneapolis police that sparked a global movement against police violence.

Kanye West recently made intense claims regarding Floyd’s passing on the Drink Champs podcast, claiming that fentanyl use was to blame for Floyd’s passing. Dr. Andrew Baker, the chief medical examiner for Hennepin County, said that although Floyd’s heart condition and fentanyl use were factors in his death, they were not the main cause. According to a professor at the University of Colorado in Denver, Floyd died as a result of Officer Derek Chauvin’s 9 1/2 minute knee pressure on his neck while he told the cops, “I can’t breathe.”
