What’s Coming up With Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

By Samuel Merrawe, Staff Reporter, The Pawprint

The films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) are amazing to watch with friends and family. The acting is great, the writing is magnificent, the plots are excellent, and the pacing is terrific. Phase 1’s films include Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor, Phase 2 films include Iron Man 2, Captain America 2, and Guardians of the Galaxy, Phase 3 films which include Doctor Strange, Spider-Man Homecoming, Black Panther, Thor 3, Captain America 3, Avengers: Infinity War, and Endgame. Everything changed after Avengers Endgame was released. Now that we are reaching Phase 4, I will be reviewing movies from the previous phases to prepare us for what comes next.

The Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness, Black Widow, Shangshi, Spiderman No Way Home, as well as Thor Love and Thunder are just a few examples of the outstanding movies produced by MCU. These movies were fantastic on an indescribable level. Though each movie shines in its own way, in my opinion, they don’t really have an overarching structure or storyline relating to each other. The table has been expanded to include a million puzzles, but none of them have been solved. There are numerous characters and plot lines, yet, there is no real plot for these movies all together. I suppose we would have to wait till the upcoming Phase 4 movies to see if one movie will make all the other movies make sense to be incorporated into one large plot. Phase 3 on the other hand, had a real storyline, especially when each Avenger had their own movie, for example they all worked together to stop a powerful villain named Thanos for two movies.  It will be important to pay attention to what will be added to this phase, how it might still be rescued, and why it will be the worst failure of all the phases.

It has recently just been announced that two Avengers movies are confirmed for the new phase. What can we expect from these movies? Will Kang the Conqueror, the next villain, be even stronger than Thanos, if the multiverse is as powerful as claimed in phase four? Additionally, a brand-new Avengers film has just been revealed. The recently revealed sixth Avengers film, Avengers: Secret Wars, will conclude Marvel Phase 6 and the Multiverse Saga. The film will be released in theaters in 2025, and Kevin Feige presented it at San Diego Comic-Con 2022, with Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. Numerous Marvel series have been released, adding variety to the plot. Captain Marvel 2, Antman 3, Black Panther 2, Guardians of the Galaxy 3… were included in Phase 3.

What can we anticipate from Black Panther 2? Who will be able play the role of the next Black Panther, after the passing of actor Chadwick Boseman? I suppose we’ll have to wait and see. The probability that Sherry, Black Panther’s Sister, will replace the current Black Panther is very likely, according to websites such as Screen Rant, The Direct and Wion. Overall, it was incredibly enjoyable to learn more about and analyze the MCU universe. Phase 4 still has a lot to offer, so let’s hope the upcoming films will help bring it all together.
