Two NFL Rookie Cards Sell for Over $1 million

Los Angeles Chargers QB and the NFL’s 2020 Offensive Player of the Year, Justin Herbert, has 2 rookie cards that were both sold for over $1 million. Only 2 other players have had cards that have sold for over $1 million, Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Tom Brady.

One of Herbert’s rookie cards, his 2020 Panini National Treasure Platinum NFL Shield Card, sold for $1.8 million. His other rookie card, 2020 Panini Prizm Black Finite, was sold for $1.1 million.

However, they aren’t the most expensive cards sold, that goes to Patrick Mahomes’ 2017 rookie card that was sold for $4.3 million, but both the cards come 3rd and 4th behind Mahomes and Brady. Lately, Herbert’s popularity with card collectors has risen quite a lot. According to eBay, his collectable sales have increased by 325% from August 2021 to this August.
