Officials from the Indian Embassy are working with local authorities to repatriate the corpse of an Indian ex-pat who died in a gas explosion in Abu Dhabi’s Khalidiya neighborhood.
In the incident at a restaurant on Monday afternoon, two individuals died — an Indian and a Pakistani expat – and 120 people were hurt, including 106 Indians.
“One Indian person is among those who died, according to information supplied by UAE authorities, while 106 Indian people were injured,” the embassy said in a statement.
The embassy is also keeping a careful eye on the injured who have been taken to hospitals in the emirate.
