Finland and Sweden apply for NATO membership.

Finland and Sweden have submitted their respective applications for NATO membership, as a result of the Russian invasion of Ukrainian soil.
The applications for membership of Finland and Sweden are presented to the Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, by the ambassadors of the two countries.
A few hours afer the two states declared they wanted to become members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, Erdogan (prime minister of Turkey) said that Ankara would not approve their applications. In Nato regulations, one vote against is enough to decide whether a country can join the organization.
