According to US media sources, flight evidence suggests that a China Eastern Airlines jet that crashed in March was deliberately thrown into a nosedive.
According to the sources, investigators have not discovered any mechanical or technical flaws with the plane, citing a preliminary evaluation by US officials.
The Boeing 737-800 was traveling between Kunming and Guangzhou in southern China when it crashed.
The plane crashed, killing all 132 passengers and crew members on board.
According to the Wall Street Journal, which broke the news first, “the plane performed what it was directed to do by someone in the cockpit,” citing a source familiar with US officials’ first assessment of the cause of the tragedy.
