New York City Subway Attack

On Tuesday, April 12, a guy wearing a gas mask and a green construction vest, shot at least 10 subway riders in Brooklyn. He threw 2 smoke canisters into the train car to distract the rush hour crowd before starting to fire.
In the moments immediately up to the attack, the gunman was in the rear corner of the second train compartment. Around 8:30 a.m, the man opened two smoke canisters and pulled out a.9-mm semi-automatic handgun as the train approached the 36th Street and Fourth Avenue station in Sunset Park.
According to NYPD Chief of Detectives James Essig, he fired at least 33 times while the car was filling with smoke, striking ten individuals .13 people had been shot, and 29 were injured.
