IPCC reveals a plan to reverse climate change

UN scientists disclose new plans to limit the root causes and effects of climate change. Scientists come forward and say that the time is now or it’s never.
Global emissions of carbon dioxide need to trail off and no longer be used within the next 3 years to prevent the worst impacts.
UN secretary Antonio Guterres says that world leaders are lying about what they each will do about the impact of global warming, and what needs to be done to stop it.
Following the dangerous temperature rise of the planet, its population would be affected by awful storms, unpredicted heat waves, and a mass of water shortages.
Guterres says that keeping the temperatures down is possible, which is good news, but will require huge changes to energy production, industry, transportation, and more.
IPCC lead author Heleen de Coninck tells BBC: “We have to peak our greenhouse gas emissions before 2025 and after that, reduce them very rapidly.”
“Having the right policies, infrastructure and technology in place to enable changes to our lifestyles and behavior can result in a 40-70% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. This offers significant untapped potential,” said IPCC Co-chair Priyadarshi Shukla.
