Man fined Dh50,000 for running over security guard during an altercation with fiance

A 32-year old Gulf national was sentenced to six months in imprisonment, fined Dh50,000 along with the suspension of his driver’s license.

The convicted man was asked to compensate the kin of the security guard, costing Dh150,000.

Dubai Police investigations concluded that the man had unintentionally run over the security guard while in a verbal altercation with his fiance.

The security guard heard the woman’s cry for help, and he held onto the door which caused him to get run over.

The woman earlier mentioned she intended to end the relationship because of his alcohol problems, with the man asking her to return a phone he had given, sparking the argument.
