Dubai to reopen Al Maktoum International Airport in May
By Benjamin Turner
Dubai will reopen its second airport, Al Maktoum Internation Airport (DWC), scheduled for a May opening, commencing flights for the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic began.
Airlines that operated in the second airport before the pandemic will continue to operate after refurbishment works which will happen for 45 days.
This opening is following Dubai International’s (DXB) opening to 100 percent capacity from December of last year.
Dubai International is still the world’s busiest airport, welcoming a record number of new airlines connecting Dubai to new destinations according to DXB
This new opening will help level out the mass amounts of people coming in and out of Dubai International Airport.
