E​​xpat detained for assaulting woman, threatening to post her private photos online

In Abu Dhabi, a British expat was arrested for reportedly assaulting an Irish woman and threatening to share her intimate images on social media.

The Abu Dhabi Public Prosecution said it had ordered the man’s detention after the wife filed a physical assault charge against him, noting certain disputes between them.

Prosecutors said the victim stated that the defendant assaulted her without cause, caus67 ing injuries to various portions of her body.

The man allegedly threatened to share her personal images on social media if she reported the incident to authorities, according to her. The assault occurred as a result of earlier disagreements between them.
