Teenage Olympic Freeskier Wins the Gold

Hundreds of millions of people raced to the internet to congratulate the teenage freeski star on winning her maiden gold medal at the Beijing Winter Olympics.
Gu, who was born in the United States, took first place in the women’s big air category with her third run, scoring 94.5 points with a 1620 and a clean landing for a total score of 188.25 points in the event’s first appearance at the Winter Olympics.
Tess Ledeux of France, who achieved silver with a score of 187.50, was a close second. Mathilde Gremaud of Switzerland took bronze.
“That was the best moment of my life. The happiest moment, day, whatever — of my life. I just cannot believe what just happened,”According to the Olympic website, Gu stated after her victory. “Even if I didn’t land it, I felt it would send a message out to the world and hopefully encourage more girls to break their own boundaries,” she added.
“That was my biggest goal going into my last run. I reminded myself to have fun and enjoy the moment and that, no matter what, I was so grateful to even have this opportunity to even be here.”
Millions of fans get the opportunity to congratulate her impressive achievements and give her lots of love for her performance.
