All Women Orchestra at Expo Once Again

Dubai’s all-women orchestra led by Yasmina Sabbah, a Lebanese conductor, performed at the Expo two days ago. 

The all-women orchestra is named Firdaus Orchestra. Aside from performing at Expo 2020, their main goals are to empower women, abolish gender stereotypes in the music industry, and inspire young girls to pursue musical careers. 

This time, Firdaus Orchestra performed along with Anoushka Shankar, a British-Indian musician. They also performed a world-renowned song by Oum Kalthoum, an Egyptian singer, called “Enta Omri.”
