A UN report has confirmed that North Korean cyber-attackers have stolen cryptocurrency worth millions of dollars to fund the nation’s missile programs.
These attacks seem to be an “important revenue source” for Pyongyang’s nuclear and ballistic missile program, they said.
From 2020 to mid-2021, it has been estimated that more than $50m have been stolen by these cyber-attackers.
The attacks targeted about three cryptocurrencies in Europe, North America, and Asia.
North Korea has been banned from launching missiles and carrying out nuclear tests by the UN Security Council.
