A 17-year old girl from Almere, The Netherlands, has been arrested for conning at least seven people, mainly pensioners, out of their savings by posing as a bank courier.
The girl is thought to have netted at least 44,00 Euro and to have been active all over the country.
Her victims were first phoned by someone claiming to be from their bank. They were told to hand their bank card and pin number to a “courier”, after which their accounts were emptied.
Police were able to identify the girl following a tip-off after her photo was shown in a television crime show at the end of November.
She is currently being held in a police cell and will appear in court for her actions.
