COVID-19 in Beijing Olympics

On January 31, 24 COVID-19 cases were detected among staff and participants of the winter 2022 Beijing Olympics. Most of the cases were found to have come from airport arrivals.
Prior to reaching China, visitors are expected to get tested regularly, wear masks, and come on charter flights.
Although most cases were detected among staff, some coaches and athletes caught it too.
The day before, 20 new cases were reported in Beijing, the highest number since June 2020.
However, It has been confirmed that the competitions will take place amid the cases.
Anyone who tests positive is forced to isolate and is forbidden from competing until two negative PCR tests.
