COVID-19 has made the richest people in the world even richer

The deadly COVID-19 pandemic has almost doubled the amount of money the wealthiest people have earned, but there’s also concern with the rising population of those in poverty. This information was reported by Oxfam – an organization founded of charitable organizations focused on the alleviation of global poverty.
Lower incomes have contributed to the death of 21,000 people per day in the US.

The event sees many important faces, like corporate and political leaders, celebrities, campaigners, and many more.
The same meeting is being held later this week, however will be held online due to the resurgence of the Omicron virus. Predictions say that this week’s meeting will involve conversations about the future path of the pandemic, vaccine equity and the energy transition.
Danny Sriskandarajah, Oxfam’s chief executive, explains, “Something is deeply flawed with our economic system,”
