Four new symptoms of the Omicron variant have recently been discovered:
Hair Loss
The American Academy of Dermatology Association stated that hair shedding is a regular symptom to occur post-fever. It has been a common Omicron symptom, as hairs shed more than usual after receiving the virus.
The hair shedding is expected to last within a range of six to nine months after being diagnosed with Omicron.
Optical Issues
The Healthline stated that Omicron reaches the angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2,) and affects your sight.
Covid-19 can also be a cause for conjunctivitis, causing redness and itchiness in the eyes.
Nausea
A professor from the Zoe Covid study app claimed that nausea was reported by many as a beginning stage of Omicron.
According to the Express, Dr Sanket Jain, from a hospital in Mumbai, India, also shared that one of his Omicron-positive patients complained about nausea and vomiting.
Back Pain
Although it is more rarely seen within patients, experts have noticed pain in the lower back as a core symptom of Omicron.
This was identified through data collected in the UK, US, and South Africa, where people were seen with lower back pain.
Muscle pains have also been reported, alongside this.
