Joe Biden voices his concerns of Russian invasion of Ukraine after having a rare meeting with Putin on Tuesday. Russian troop build-ups have been causing concern and the US has threatened to take strong economic measures to prevent the invasion.
Russia says it will not attack Ukraine.
Putin accused Kyiv of provocation and sought guarantees against eastward NATO expansion.
After Tuesday’s video call, US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan tells journalists that the US is preparing specific robust responses in the coming weeks if needed.
US officials would not explain exactly what the economic measures would be; preferring that the conversation be held between the 2 world leaders.
