Famous singer and songwriter Adele is moved to tears after her high school English teacher walks out of the audience at her ITV concert special, “An Audience with Adele,” on Sunday.

During the show, Hollywood actress Emma Thompson asked Adele whether there was someone special in her past that inspired her and supported her through trials in life.

Adele then revealed her connection to her former English teacher Ms. McDonald at Chestnut Grove Academy.

“I had a teacher at Chestnut Grove who taught me English. That was Miss McDonald… She got me really into English literature,” Adele shared. “Like, I’ve always been obsessed with English and obviously now I write lyrics.”

“She was so bloody cool. So engaging,” she added. “She really made us care, and we knew that she cared about us.”

She was then told by Thompson that McDonald was in the audience, after 20 years of not being in touch.

Adele was left stunned, crying tears of joy as McDonald was brought onto stage.

“I’m so proud of you,” McDonald told the Grammy-award winning singer as the two embraced.

After the performance, Adele went to Twitter to express her joy about the experience.

“There was so much love in the room for each other, it felt like such a gig! Everyone was raucous and bang up for it! And my teacher Ms McDonald was there, it was just heaven,” she wrote.
