Spotify removes shuffle as the default on albums

Adele, a multiple time Grammy winning artist has shown over the years that there is a certain way she likes showcasing her music and now she has  Spotify on her side. In the past Spotify users were made to listen to an album in the shuffle mode by default but that has now changed for Premium members. 

Spotify has removed the shuffle option as a default after Adele requested it saying, “This was the only request I had in our ever changing industry!” the Grammy-winning singer tweeted on Saturday. “We don’t create albums with so much care and thought into our track listing for no reason. Our art tells a story and our stories should be listened to as we intended.”. Spotify just replied saying, Änything for you.” and made the change. 

While the shuffle option is no longer the default, that does not mean that it is no longer one. If listeners still wish to shuffle the album they can do so by going to the ‘Now Playing’ and using the shuffle toggle.
