Kyle Rittenhouse of Kenosha, Wisconsin was put on trial for 2 counts of murder and one count of assault with a lethal weapon. After a long period of indecision, the Judge and jury presiding over the case reached a verdict of not guilty, resulting in all charges against Rittenhouse being dropped.
Armed during a protest against police, Rittenhouse was approached by 3 men and attacked. The men pulled a firearm on him. Consequently, out of self defense, Rittenhouse gunned the 3 men down, killing two, and injuring one.
Upon his release, he issued a statement saying that he’s happy but not surprised about the verdict, as “self defense isn’t a crime.”
