Around 2 million people who have not been vaccinated or have not got their second dose for covid have been placed in lockdown in Austria as the country is facing another load of cases.
Chancellor Alexander Schallengerg spoke out and said, “we are not taking this step lightly, but unfortunately it is necessary.”
There is a set of rules for the unvaccinated people, for instance, they will only be allowed to leave their home for work or buying food.
About 65% of Austria is fully vaccinated. Overall, Europe has again become one of the most seriously affected by the pandemic, and now several other countries are introducing restrictions and warnings for the rising cases.
