The German military honored the 90,000 German soldiers who served Afghanistan with a parade modeled after those of the German Reich and Adolf Hitlers Nazi regime the soldiers were carrying torches and wearing steel helmets Reminiscent of the world war II era. Many German media and politics said the procession and any criticism against it were doing the country a disservice to the overall message.
