Now 41, Man Who Killed 4-Year-Old Boy at 13, was Granted Parole

On Saturday, officials stated that 41 year old, Eric M Smith, has been granted parole for the murder of a 4-year-old in New York. 

In 1994, Smith was charged of second-degree murder and sentenced to life in jail for a minimum of nine years. A year before this when Smith was 14, he led his victim, Derrick Robie, to the woods and beat him to death with a rock.

Smith was eligible for release in 2002, however, his parents rejected the parole due to the severity of his crime.
