China Held Beach Landing Drills In Province Opposite Taiwan
By Jessica Merjaneh
China’s military said on Monday that it was landing drills on the beach in the province directly across from Taiwan, though it did not associate the drills with current tensions with Taipei.
The Chinese military newspaper added that “shock” troops, pioneers and boat specialists participated in the operation. The troops “divided into waves to take the beach and carry out combat tasks in different stages,” he added, without elaborating.
China and Taiwan have been facing turmoil and conflicts since 1949.
