Sydney, Australia has emerged from a 4 month lockdown and has its population excited to get back to normal.
People queued for pubs and shops that opened that night, others enjoyed long anticipated reunions and visits to homes of families and friends.
Covid rules had banned household visits and travel beyond a 5km zone.
Australia’s most populous state has reached a 70% vaccination rate for individuals over 16. Most restrictions will be lifted when 80% of people over 16 are completely vaccinated.
Premier Dominic Perrottet says, “We’ll see hospitalizations increase… but we need to learn to live alongside the virus.”
