Nearly two million people have been affected by severe flooding in Northern China

Torrential rain led to houses collapsing and hazardous landslides all over China. The Chinese Meteorological Administration told local media that heavy and prolonged rainfall and storms are negatively influencing rescue efforts.
Shanxi province which is located in the North of China has been the most affected but they tried their best to be cautious because there are many ancient fragile monuments. About 120,000 people have been urgently transferred and 17,000 homes have either collapsed or destroyed.
According to global times four police officers have died due to these harsh conditions. Shanxi is a major coal producing province the government had no other option but to stop operations in mines and chemical factories due to the rain.
