According to the National Centre of Metrology warning, Cyclone Shaheen was predicted to hit parts of the UAE on Sunday afternoon.
The cyclone was formed in the Arabian Sea, which is now moving west, expected to reach Al Ain. “Coastal areas are also bracing for the impact of the storm, which is expected to bring rough waves and high winds,” according to the National News.
“We would like to reassure everyone that all competent authorities are on high alert to deal with the upcoming tropical situation, and take all proactive and preventive measures to mitigate its impact on the country,” the authorities said earlier.
