Hours after the world’s expo fair opened this Friday in Dubai, Afghanistan’s exhibition has been closed to visitors for the time being.
In May of this year, then Afghan Consul-General Masood Azizi reported that Afghanistan would showcase a “resurgent, resilient” Afghanistan is the world’s fair per Khaleej Times.
“We’ve come a long way in the past many years. Afghanistan of 2020 is not that of 1996. Our country pavilion will tell the story of hope, cooperation, and opportunity,” Azizi said.
The plans were to showcase the Afghani culture, with agricultural products, saffron, carpets, and metals. However, it seems that it will not happen.
