Taliban Ban Barbers from Trimming Beards in Afghan Province

The Frontier Post citing the Taliban’s letter reports, “The Taliban have banned stylish hairstyles and shaving beards in Helmand province in southern Afghanistan,” this week.
Officials from the Ministry of Islamic Orientation met with representatives of men’s hair salons in Lashkar Gah, the province capital, according to the Frontier Post.
This order was quickly spread on social media and included a request that no music be played at hair salons.
Meanwhile, the Taliban is re-enforcing the regulations that controlled its version of Islamic Sharia law from 1996 to 2001.
