8 train carriages derailed on Saturday at around 4 pm in northern Montana, injuring many and killing 3.
According to NDTV news, there were about 141 passengers and 16 crew members on board travelling from Chicago to Seattle.
The local sheriff’s department announced that 3 people lost their lives because of the incident, and many others were injured. The cause of the incident is not clear yet, as authorities are questioning how and why the train came off the tracks.
An Ambulance and teams of rescuers rushed to the scene immediately as a rail operator, Amtrak, safely tried to evacuate all passengers. Hospitals and medical helicopters were on standby.
The US rail network stated that as much as they hope every train ride goes smoothly sometimes fatal accidents happen.
