Rwanda Genocide Kingpin Theoneste Bagosora Dies in Jail in Mali

A former Rwandan army colonel, convicted for his role in the massacre of some 800,000 people in 1994, has died in Mali, where he was in prison serving his sentence.
Théoneste Bagosora, 80, was a senior figure in Rwanda’s ministry of defence at the time of the killings and was sentenced one of the harshest sentences “life sentence” for the many killings he had contributed to including the prime minister Agathe Uwilingiyimana.
