According to Gulf News, UAE’s Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed of Sharjah allocated 6 million dirhams worth of medication for the Children’s Cancer Center of Lebanon.
Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed is the chairperson of The Big Heart Foundation. She is also an Eminent Advocate for Refugee Children at UNHCR.
The Children Cancer Center of Lebanon is a not-for-profit cancer treatment and training center supporting children and adolescents in the Middle East. The center is in dire need of help because of Lebanon’s economic crisis leading to a lack of resources and medications for cancer patients.
Finally, through The Big Heart Foundation, Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed will ship the needed medication to Lebanon. Based on an assessment done by the Children Cancer Center of Lebanon, this donation can cover “the medication needed for one year and adolescent patients for a one-year period to ensure treatment continuity” (Gulf News).
