Willie Garson, who played Stanford Blatch in Sex and the City, died at the age of 57, according to his son.
The cause of his death hasn’t been disclosed as of yet.
“I love you so much, papa. Rest in peace and I’m so glad you got to share all your adventures with me and were able to accomplish so much, “Nathen Garson wrote on Instagram. “I’m so proud of you.” “You were always the toughest, funniest, smartest person I’ve known,” his son added.
For six seasons, Garson played Blatch, a talent agent, and Sarah Jessica Parker’s Carrie’s loyal and fashionable best friend. He reprised the role in “Sex and the City” and “Sex and the City 2,” and was currently filming “And Just Like That,” an HBO Max revival.
In a tweet, Cynthia Nixon, who portrayed Miranda Hobbes in the show, expressed her sadness. “We all loved him and adored working with him. He was endlessly funny on-screen and in real life,” she wrote. “He was a source of light, friendship, and show business lore. He was a consummate professional — always. “
