Mass Shooting Targets Perm University

The mass shooting that left six people dead and 24 injured shocks the students of Perm University in Russia. The attacker had been identified as an 18-year-old law student, Timur Bekmansurov, and the majority of his victims being his fellow classmates.
According to the BBC article, 3 of the victims were only teenagers, Ksenia Samchenko – 18, Yekaterina Shakirova – 19, and Yaroslav Aramelev – 19. The other 3 victims were Alexandra Mokhova – 20, Anna Aigeldina – 26, Margarita Engaus – 66.
Before his social media accounts were deactivated Bekmansurov wrote, “I’ve thought about this for a long time, it’s been years and I realized the time had come to do what I dreamt of.” He was described to be consumed by hatred from others.
Now students and the community are dealing with the grief of their peers and children. Meanwhile, on Tuesday it was reported gunman Timur Bekmansurov is unconscious in critical condition with gunshot wounds and a leg amputated.
