Texas Doctor Goes Against State Law and Performs an Abortion

Texas doctor, Alan Braid, carried out an abortion for a woman who was in her first trimester on September 6th.

The reasoning for executing this service was due to the fact that Braid believed every woman should have access to this kind of care. Braid was fully aware that there would be legal consequences. 

Braid has connections to the Center for Reproductive Rights, who are in court, combating the law. 

On account of the new law, any Texas citizen can sue Braid, leaving the case with at least $10,000.
