Lawrence Brooks, the oldest US World War II veteran, commemorated his birthday in The National World War II Museum on September 12th.
The museum prepared festivities such as a jeep parade and live performances. Due to the pandemic, the museum has not been able to host parties for the last two years. However, with the help of the vaccine, Brooks was able to go all out for his party.
Drafted in 1940, Brooks was enlisted as a private in the US army. His position was an Engineer Battalion. Lawrence worked in building infrastructure, such as roads, airstrips and bridges.
