Teenagers as young as 15 with a work permit will now be able to work part-time jobs in the UAE. By working part-time shifts teenagers can gain experience in the workplace and develop their customer service skills, etc without interrupting their studies.
Companies are required to apply for juvenile work permits through the Ministry of Resources and Emiratisation. Application fees begin at 100 Dhs and once approved there is an additional 500 Dhs to be paid as well.
The privilege of working before university allows children to gain experience in teamwork and collaboration, professionalism, and building a strong work ethic, plus leadership and communication skills. All of which will give them a strong lead when filling out applications for higher education and future jobs.
