John McAfee had reportedly taken his own life in his prison cell. According to the Catalan Justice Department, reasons to why he ended his own life are unknown to the public, and they did everything they could to try and revive him in time, but were too late to do so.

John McAfee, 75, was best known for his work creating the Anti Virus software named McAfee, he had sold his creation to Intel for over 7.6 Billion USD.

McAfee was arrested by the Spanish authorities in October 2020 for tax evasion at the request of the US Department of Justice. He had never plead guilty even after his arrest and fought extradition which he lost last week.

McAfee never fitted into what a tech entrepreneur might look like. He was brash, reckless and never far away from the next scandal.

He was always running into trouble internationally, being arrested in Guatemala, Turkey, Spain and even running from the police in Belize and the Domincan Republic.
