Megan’s first ever children’s book

Megan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, wrote her first ever children’s book, the book is based on a father and son relationship from a mothers perspective. Megan was inspired by the relationship of Prince Harry and their son Archie.

She mentions that The Bench started as a poem that she wrote for her husband on Father’s Day, the month after Archie was born. She added “my hope is that The Bench resonates with every family, no matter the make-up, as much as it does with mine.”

The book is illustrated  by Christian Robinson, an award winning illustrator. The book will be published on the 8th of June 2021. The publishers wrote that the book “gives readers a window into shared and enduring moments between a diverse group of fathers and sons – moments of peace and reflection, trust and belief, discovery and learning, and lasting comfort.”
